Night Shelter
The Drop-in is located at the main road about 100 m from the border. It is design to provide a save day-and night shelter for children working at the border and for other vulnerable children.
Children who have no save place to spend the night can sleep at the Drop-in for up to two weeks. They can get dinner and breakfast, basic medical care and counselling from our social workers.
While the child stays at the Drop-in, the social workers will discuss with the child about possible options for the future.
If ever possible the goal is to reintegrate the child back into her/his family and into formal or non-formal education.
Substance-abusing children are encouraged to join the theatre programme at the Rehabilitation Centre to get off drugs first.
Notschlafstelle
Das Drop-in befindet sich an der Hauptstrasse ungefähr 100 m von der Grenze entfernt. Kinder die an der Grenze arbeiten und andere vernachlässigte Kinder finden im Drop-in Unterschlupf.
Kinder ohne sicheren Ort zum Schlafen können im Drop-in bis zu maximal zwei Wochen übernachten. Sie erhalten Abend- und Morgenessen und wenn nötig medizinische Betreuung. Unsere SozialarbeiterInnen geben den Kindern auch Ratschläge für deren weitere Zukunft.
Während des Aufenthalts der Kinder im Drop-in erörtern die SozialarbeiterInnen den Kindern die möglichen Optionen. Das Ziel ist die Wiedereingliederung der Kinder in ihre Familien und die Überführung in eine Ausbildung.
Drogenabhängige Kinder werden dazu ermutigt, im Theaterprogramm des Rehabilitation-Zentrums mitzumachen und so von den Drogen loszukommen.

Day Activities
To take the children off the border and as a first step to integrate them into public school or vocational training, the Drop-in provides a one hour non-formal education programme for children who spend their day at the border.
Except from Khmer reading and writing and mathematics, the non-formal education programme also includes awareness raising on topics such as substance-abuse, HIV/AIDS, child-trafficking and child-abuse.
Aktivitäten am Tag
Um Kinder, die an der Grenze arbeiten, davon zu überzeugen, eine längere Ausbildung zu beginnen, organisieren wir ein einstündiges Ausbildungsprogramm im Drop-in.
Ausser Lesen, Schreiben und Mathematik bietet das Programm auch Informationen zu Themen wie Drogenmissbrauch, HIV/AIDS, Kinderhandel und Kindsmissbrauch.

To compensate for the loss of income while studying at the Drop-in, we offer the children a small snack before they go back to work.
Als Ersatz für das durch den Besuch des Unterrichts verminderte Einkommen erhalten die Kinder eine kleine Mahlzeit bevor, sie wieder zurück an ihrer Arbeit gehen.
