Many street children in Cambodia sniff glue to escape from the harsh reality of life on the streets. In response to the great increase in drug addicted street children Mith Samlanh / Friends initiated a pilot project outside Phnom Penh in February 2004. Alongside rehabilitation the project attempt to provide psychological healing and first steps in re-socialization.
The goal of the "Camp Sabay-Sabay" project is to achieve lasting psychological and social stability of the once drug addicted child.
With the help of social workers the children experience new approaches to a drug - free self directed life. The idyllic surroundings facilitate this process.
Goals:
durable psychological and social stability
create and activate plans for the future
offer different options for vocational trainings
job placements after the vocational training
GEcsn activities with Mith Samlanh:
Creating links between the NGO and Western volunteers
